Dodital Trek – An entrancing winter trek located in the Himalayas

The trek includes camping alongside the beautiful Dodital ( Dodi Lake) before traversing the Darwa Pass , darwa top . The pass affords impressive views Dodital trek goes through various villages like Bhevra, Aghoda Villages near by beautiful camp site (Agoda) etc.

The Villagers we come across are extremely helpful and you can greet and talk to them but avoid giving the children chocolates or toffees. of the mighty Bandarpunch(link) and the snowy ridges of the Dhaula Dhar as well as the forested ridges and meadows leading down to Hanuman Chatti a famous pilgrim town. There are interesting side trips, gets its from Dodi which in cocal language means trout these fish are founds in large number in the lake According to legend Dodital means dodital which means lord Ganesha it is forest area of lord Ganesha no wonder for its alluring my sterious dense forest it makes for ideal retreat the trek for.
Beautiful Campsite
Located in Gharwal Himalayas in the State of Uttarakhand, Dodital trek is a beginner’s delight. The trek takes you through dense forest and open meadows and eventually to the beautiful Dodital Lake and eventually to Dwara Pass Top at 4150 Meters offers mesmerizing views of Dhauladhar and Greater Himalayan Ranges. At 3500 Meters Dodital Lake is a beautiful campsite surrounded by pine and oak trees the Lake is also home to Fresh Water Golden Masheer one of most famous trout fish in the Himalayas.

Getting to the base camp, Uttarkashi
Take an overnight train to Dehradun from Delhi. New Delhi-Dehradun A/C special train from New Delhi station is the best option. The train reaches Dehradun at 5.40 am. If you Meet to our office member and drive to .Barsu camp .
We Arrange the transportation for you from Dehradun Railway station to Uttarkashi camp and the Drop To Dehradun. The transport is in Bolero, Inova , Tempo Traveler.
By Air
Jolly Grant Airport is the airport serving Dehradun, located about 25 km from the city. There is a daily flight from Delhi to Dehradun

By Bus
There is regular bus service from Delhi to Dehradun, from Delhi, ISBT Kashmere Gate
We would suggest you to take only government buses from ISBT Kashmere Gate. Private buses ply from outside ISBT and they are not trust worthiness.
Usually buses drop you at Dehradun ISBT. From there you have to come to Dehradun Railway Station meet us railway station 6:30 Am.
Key Points about this trek
- Level: Moderate (so first timers should avoid)
- Proper conditioning & training of body required
- Need proper gear & clothing for sub-zero temperatures?
- Shoes are the single most important equipment
- High Altitude requires proper acclimatization
- Post monsoon or pre-monsoon is the best time. During rains the region is prone to landslides
- Phones don’t work
- Beautiful landscape so carry good photo gear (I couldn’t carry my best equipment)
- Travel light (my backpack was heavy at about 10 kg)
- Keep an extra day in your itinerary for crossing the pass to account for bad weather
