The unforgettable high moderate Himalyan adventure Hampta Pass Trek is based in the region of beautiful Himanchal (Manali) at an altitude of 14100 ft. high. Hampta pass trekking can be done in any season, but the best time to go for trek is in the month of June to September. Hampta Pass trekking gives an amazing experience of exploring your life with special hues of nature. One gets an incredible view of rock faces, frosty valleys, thick pine forest, open meadows, adrenaline pumping waterway and pleasant as well as adventurous crossing areas.

Hampta pass trek connects two beautiful valley named; Kullu and Lahaul, were one get various Landscapes. Colorful Himalayan birds, species and flowers attract the viewers by their beauty. The scenic landscape, frequently change in weather and atmosphere delights the trekkers and gives a good option of clicking pictures. Climbing on the snow stretch and finding peace with nature with the surroundings of Himalaya is vast.

It is a short trek of just 5 days. The trekking in Himanchal – Hampta Pass starts from beautiful hill station Manali. At an altitude of Manali trekkers cross from Jobra to Chika. Crossing through small pine forest, huge rock and rich vegetations are remarkable. Travelling just for four hours and you reach to the second destination of your trek – Chika. Here you enjoy the refreshing river, waterfalls and grassy land. Here the camps are tented and trekkers hold at night and relax. The second day of the trek is Balu ka Gera. At Balu Ka Gera you meet with huge rocks at Nani Lake, enjoy the icy cold water, mountain and click photographs to make your trip memorable. The next destination is Shea Goru, it is a 8 hrs journey. Colorful river side tiny flowers and patches of snow divert the attention of trekkers. At an altitude before crossing the Hampta Pass Deo Tibba Peak is clearly visible. Hampta Pass has got two ridges. The zic-zag route, U-turn, downhill and snow fall with an uncertain rainfall makes the trekking moment more enjoyable. It is an easy trek with a moderate level of walking area. Then here comes the second last destination from Siagoru to Chatru; it is a downhill trek of 5 hours. Here you get rivers and beautiful valleys in the heart of mountain ranges. The trekking is quite difficult in this area because of slippery soils and rocky edge path. Chandra River and glacier flow near it makes a remarkable statement in trek. The final destination to the trek is Chatru to Chandratal. Chatru is at a distant of 70 Kms far from Chandartal. You can drive to Chandar tal and visit the Moon Lake; it is the main point to visit in Chandartal and step back to Manali after enjoying your time at utmost. You can also enjoy the local sightseeing of Manali.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival day (Base camp – Manali and have some breakfast - Same Day Drive to Jebra Road Head by taxi (28km)
Arrive at Manali in the morning (on your own) .Post breakfast, we will pick up trekkers from Rambaug circle (around 11 am) We will drive down to Jobra by taxi/jeep. Jobra is an hour’s drive away from Manali. The trek begins from Jobra to Cheeka around 2.30 pm. The trail to Cheeka passes through superb Pine and Maple forests and enters a lush green meadow strewn with small rocks. The Rani Nala snakes its way through the meadow. The campsite for the day – Cheeka is at the end of this meadow. It takes about 2 hours to get to Cheeka. The temperature in Cheeka at night can drop below 10 degrees.Camp overnight at Cheeka , All the tourists will be reaching Manali which is also known as the paradise of India by afternoon. Many types of transportation facilities buses and cars are available for you to reach Manali. In Himachal Pradesh Kullu and Manali are the too small towns which are located very close to each other. Both the places are visited at the same time by all the tourists. As soon as you reach Manali you will take rest in the provided lodge or hotels. This place is famous for good food and weather. The people over here are you helping nature. After having a delicious lunch at any restaurant, you can start your journey for today towards Chika. It is situated 10,250 feet about the sea level. All along the way, you will be able to see a very famous temple which is known as the origin of small hot spring. .Start trekking after breakfast. It is a 4 hour easy ascent to Balu Ka Gera.

Day 2 : After Breakfast Start Trek Cheeka to Balu Ka Gera (07km) (4/5hras) Night stay in Camp

Start trekking after breakfast. It is a 4 hour easy ascent to Balu Ka Gera.The trail stays along the banks of the river for most part of the day. The initial climb involves a lot of boulder hopping. Take off your shoes and hop across the Rani Nala if you want to feel the icy cold water.

Pitch your tents and camp at Balu Ka Gera, 11,000 feet above sea level.

After having a good tight sleep, have the healthiest breakfast and get ready to continue your trek. For today, your destination will be BhalukaGhera. This place is famous for brown bears and hence the name of this place stands on them. During winters, all the brown bears come over here and hibernate. As you continue to travel in the same direction, you can see a bridge, which is made up of logs.

It is necessary to cross the bridge with caution. Just after crossing the bridge you will be able to view a stream in which water is flowing in a very high speed. You should keep yourself left to reach the destination. After a point of time, you will face some attitude to come across. Many different varieties of flowers can be seen all the way. After some time again you will again see a stream of water flowing. It is recommended to cross the stream on the morning itself as that time the water current is slow and steady as compared to the later time of the day.

The trail from Balu Ka Gera to Shea Goru is moderately steep with a final sharp descent.

Day 3 : After breakfast from Balu Ka Gera to Shea Goru via Hampta pass (4300mtr) (9km) (6/7hrs) night stay in camp
The trail moves along the river which is lined by tiny pink and yellow flowers. The trail from Balu Ka Gera to Shea Goru is moderately steep with a final sharp descent. If you trek during summer, you will find a lot of snow, else you may see a few snow patches. You will reach Shea Goru in about 2 hours.Camp overnight beside the river at Shea Goru. It has so much natural beauty that cannot be explained in words. It is a perfect location to click some fabulous pictures. Stalls are provided on the way where you can take some rest. About 14000 feet above the sea level is Lahaul which you will reach after leaving behind Hampta Pass.It is very important for you to start little early for the trekking today. Keep yourself left of the valley which you will travel full day. It totally depends on the time of trekking but sometimes if you look back all you can see is some snow bridges. Maintaining left is the ultimate object in this trek, and you will keep it till you reach Hampta pass. Trekking in Hampta pass just drives you crazy as it is one of the most fabulous experiences you can have. .

Day 4 : After Breakfast form  Shea Goru to Chatru by trek (5km) (3/4hrs) (3000mtr) after lunch drive to Chandartal (78) (3hrs) one way back to Chatru Camp night stay in tents
It is a gentle downhill walk to Chatru, with a few tricky sections The trail continue along the river, and there are two three huge glacial flows down the mountain side Camp at Chatru beside the many streams that flow through the meadows. Chatru is a beautiful camping spot with lovely mountain views.

Post lunch, drive from Chatru to Chandratal, a beautiful moon shaped lake. Chandratal is 3 hours and 70 km away from Chatru.  Camp overnight at a camping ground 4 km away from Chandra tal.

Get up soon and have your breakfast. Get ready for the trek and cross the river which is seen from the campsite. Half of your trek is very easy as it will be full descend and the rest of the trek will be very tiring for you to traverse very steep altitude. It will make your path difficult when you will face the rock zone. After descending you will see the large valley of river Chandra.

Chandra River is at 11000 feet above the sea level and is located on the highway of Manali and Kaza. It is an exhibition place as one side you can view the mountains full of snow and the other side you will view barren mountains. On the way, you can satisfy your hunger on the dhabas located on the way of your trek. The food quality is ultimate and delicious, and you will find to have some more of them as you are doing some of the real physical work. By the end of the day, you will cover 8 kilometres approximately, and it should not take more than 5 hours to complete it.

Day 5 : After Breakfast Drive to Manali Visit to Rohtang Pass (13500fit) .Manali
Depart from Chatru/Chandratal* to Manali early morning by shared cabs. Indiahikes will arrange vehicles to drop trekkers back to Manali. It will take about 4-6 hours to reach Manali depending on the condition of the roads. Book your return tickets from Manali late in the evening to give you enough travel buffer time.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy:

It is wise to make your booking at least two months in advance. In the event of cancellation of trek/adventure activity services due to any avoidable/unavoidable reasons we must be notified of the same in writing. Cancellation charges will be effective from the date we receive advice in writing, andcancellation charges would be as follows

Up to 30 Days: - 90% of Trek/adventure program cost will be refund.
Between 21 – 30 Days: – 60% of Trek/Adventure/Tour/Travel/Hotel program cost will be refund.
Between 20 – 11 Days: – 30% of Trek/Adventure/Tour/Travel/Hotel program cost will be refunded.

Participants must bring:

Backpack of 50 -60 ltrs and Daypack of 20 ltrs.
• persnol adventure Trekking equipments
• Sturdy hiking boots: preferably all leather upper as it provides better ankle support. If you do not own a pair yet, it is advisable that you buy one as soon as possible & wear it often so that they are well broken. This will help prevent blisters.
• Light weight tennis shoes/sandals: for wearing in camp.
• Wool socks: 3 pairs: preferably thick wool socks.
• Nylon socks: 3- Pairs, of the type you wear daily to be worm under the wool socks to prevent blister.
• Hiking shirt: 1 Preferably long sleeve
• Long John top: 2 also known as thermal underwear, preferably wool to be worm as first layer.
• Warm shirts & pants for camp : 2 each
• Rain cot 1 each
• Warm Jacket: 2
• Wool gloves: 1 pairs as thick as available in the market.
• Long John bottoms: Preferably wool to be worm as first layer.
• Under wear: 2-3 changes Hiking shorts/ pants: 1
